Biography
Ricardo Pereira is a singer/songwriter from Portugal. He started out playing in rock bands in high school, performing covers in some bars and events. In 2003 his guitar teacher invited him to help giving guitar tuition to young pupils. In 2005 he wrote his first songs that are a fusion of Acoustic rock and Indie.
At the age of 23 Ricardo decided to move to Edinburgh and pursue a career in music. He enrolled at Stevenson College Edinburgh (SCE) in February 2011 having completed the First Certificate in Music with distinction. In August 2011, Explosive Arts invited him to compose all the music for their Fringe show Imaginarium and perform it live.
In September 2011, he started the Degree Foundation in Music at SCE. As a member of the Stevenson College Choir, he performed at the World Skills London 2011 opening ceremony in October 2011. Ricardo has played in some bars and open-mic nights in Edinburgh and is excited about his new set of original songs.
In October 2011 Ricardo has formed Skinny Rhino, with Michal Wroblewski, Kyle Grieve and Jamie Sommerville. The four piece band met at Stevenson College while studying music. Skinny Rhino have recorded some of their songs and are planning on recording their first EP in the Spring of 2012.
